ODISHA STATE BHARAT SCOUTS AND GUIDES (OSBSG)

The Bharat Scouts and Guides (BSG), which was founded on 24th October 1950, is a voluntary non-political, educational movement for young people, opened to all without distinction of origin, race and creed, in accordance with the purpose, principles and method adopted in the World Organization of Scout Movement (WOSM) in 1922 and World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGS) in 1928 by Robert Baden-Powell.

The purpose of the movement is to contribute to the development of young people in achieving their full physical, intellectual, social and spiritual potentials and individuals as responsible citizens and as members of the social, national and international community. The Bharat Scouts and guides has been implementing their scheme in various colleges in the state imparting social and moral education to the students.

The Rovering unit (for Boys) and Rangering Unit (for Girls) of OSBSG were opened for both +2 and +3 classes were opened in RIHS in the session 2016-17. A male member of the teaching staff is nominated as Rover Scout leader and a lady member of the staff is nominator as Ranger leader by the Principal. A fee of Rs. 12/- is collected from all students for the purposde. The Rover and Ranger wing of the institution are committed to serve the society with its abolute strength, energy and spirit.
