National Service Scheme

The National Service Scheme was introduced in College in 1983. At present two N.S.S. unit including one Girls unit are functioning. Each unit consists of 50 volunteers and in under separate officers.

Objectives :

  • To make use of the leisure of the college students in organising camps to the uplift of the villages.
  • To inculcate in them the sense of responsibility towards their fellow villagers and the dignity of labour.
  • Diffusion of advance ideas in the minds of the villagers for their uplift.
  • To put the scholarship to practical use in mitigating atleast some of the social problems.
  • To gain skills in the exercise of democratic leadership.

Rules :

  • All able bodied students of the college are eligible to apply for enrolment.
  • The selection for admission in to the N.S.S. will be made by inter.
  • A minimum of 75% of attendance in the Physical work classes and attendance at two camps are obligatory without which the names will be struck off the roll.
  • Material issued should be returned to the N.S.S. office befor Annual / Test Examination.
  • Discipline is the prime guiding factor in the N.S.S. The Programme Officer, N.S.S. is empowered to take disciplinary action against any volunteer violating the rules.
  • On all matters relating to the N.S.S. the decision of the Principal is final.
